Julie is the official influencer of the MetaFamily - constantly finding new things to get us all addicted to. It's thanks to her that we all have Macs and iPhones, need at least 5 cups of high quality loose leaf tea per day, and obsessively enjoy all things Battlestar Galactica (especially Bear McCreary's outstanding soundtracks - which lead to widespread office use of the phrase "badass like bears").

As MetaSpring's lead Information Architect and Developer, Julie spends her days optimizing information for usability and constructing god-like frameworks of justice in Ruby on Rails.

Julie realized her passion for the web and development when she discovered Rails as a senior at Michigan State University. She had always been intrigued by the connections and interactions that tie us all together - so the study of / engagement in / and development of participatory phenomena like online communities and folksonomies seemed the only natural way to go.
